Lil Wayne paused his concert in Kansas City, the hometown of NFL star Travis Kelce, to celebrate his engagement to Taylor Swift.
The rapper, dressed in a cardigan — a signature piece often worn by Swift — explained his outfit to the crowd before offering his congratulations.
“I’m dressed in spirit. In the spirit of my man Travis and my girl, you already know Taylor. Traylor! That’s what we call them. Congratulations,” he said.
This lighthearted moment comes months after Lil Wayne criticized the Kansas City Chiefs, accusing them of cheating in their playoff win against the Houston Texans back in January. At the time, the Green Bay Packers fan wrote on X,
“It’s not even impressive when u cheat and then clearly try to cheat. Just win baby. I hate the cheating azz Chiefs.”
Kelce brushed off the comments, even discussing them with his brother Jason on their New Heights podcast. Jason remarked;
“The whole world was talking about something else during the game. Even Lil Wayne.”
Travis responded with good humor, adding, “Shout out to Tunechi, man.”
Wayne’s latest words of support suggest there’s no animosity between him and the newly engaged couple.
