Comedian and skitmaker Lord Lamba has stirred controversy online with a bold statement about women and relationships.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:
“If she is able to pay all her bills without your assistance, she cannot listen to you.”
The post quickly went viral, generating mixed reactions from fans and social media users.
One user countered his claim, writing:
“Paying bills doesn’t cancel mutual respect. Independence is not a license for pride, and providing isn’t a ticket for control. Relationship na partnership, not boss and employee vibes.”
Another added:
“A woman who truly loves you will naturally be supportive and submissive, whether or not she pays her own bills. Some women simply want to love and be loved in return.”
Others, however, sided with Lamba’s perspective. One woman commented:
“As I’m paying my bills by myself, you have to be doing more than just paying bills for me to take you serious.”
Another wrote:
“It simply means she doesn’t love you. Well-to-do women submit to the men they love in real life, forget the social media brags.”
Lord Lamba’s remark has since sparked a heated debate on gender roles, financial independence, and the dynamics of respect in relationships.
