Manchester United have submitted a blockbuster offer worth up to $98 million (including add-ons) to RB Leipzig for rising Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
The Red Devils’ bid surpasses the $92 million package reportedly offered by Newcastle United, signaling a strong intent from United to land the 21-year-old ahead of Premier League rivals.
Šeško, who impressed in the Bundesliga last season with 14 goals in 31 appearances, has been on the radar of several top European clubs. United’s proposal reportedly includes a high base fee with significant performance-based add-ons, showing confidence in Šeško’s long-term value.
United manager Erik ten Hag is keen to bolster his attacking options after a goal-shy 2024/25 campaign, and sees the 6’5” forward as a perfect fit for United’s evolving frontline.
RB Leipzig are yet to formally respond, but sources suggest the German side may consider accepting if the final terms meet their valuation and structure expectations.
If completed, Šeško would become one of the most expensive U-23 signings in Manchester United history.
