Reality TV star Tacha Akide has stunned fans with revelations about her costly stay in the United Kingdom, disclosing that she spent a staggering £5,000 (about ₦10.3 million) every month on rent.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, the former BBNaija contestant opened up about life abroad, noting that while many Nigerians dream of relocating to the UK, the reality can be far from glamorous.
She said friends she had hoped to reconnect with were often too busy juggling multiple work shifts to spend time with her.
Tacha described her UK accommodation as being in one of the country’s most expensive neighbourhoods, adding that the high rent made each month feel like a countdown to the next payment.
She also painted a vivid picture of encountering people sleeping rough and begging for as little as £1, a reminder, she said, that life overseas can be just as tough — if not tougher — than in Nigeria.
