UEFA has announced a significant change to the Champions League final, set to take effect from the 2025/2026 season.
In a bid to make Europe’s biggest club game more accessible to fans both in the stadium and across the globe, the governing body has confirmed that the final will now kick off at 6:00 pm local time.
The decision marks a departure from tradition, with the 2024/2025 final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest set to start at 9:00 pm local time.
UEFA explained that the earlier kick-off is aimed at enhancing the overall matchday experience, while also tackling logistical issues that have been raised in previous editions of the competition.
The 2025/2026 Champions League final will therefore be the first to adopt the new schedule, offering a more convenient viewing time for millions of football fans worldwide.
