Media personality and actress Destiny Amaka has shared her candid thoughts on the struggles faced by women in today’s dating scene, describing modern relationships as increasingly transactional and disappointing.
In a series of posts on her Instagram story, Destiny expressed concern over the attitudes of some men who expect intimacy in exchange for taking a woman out, saying it leaves no room for genuine chemistry.
“A lot of men have lost the art of being a gentleman. Imagine taking a woman out and thinking the least she owes you is a kiss? Dating isn’t supposed to feel like a transaction,” she wrote.
She stressed that it has become harder for intentional women to find men who are intelligent, respectful, and supportive.
“The streets are rough for us intentional women oh!” she lamented.
The actress also pointed out that she never expects from a man what she cannot provide for herself, adding that she can easily detect when a man’s only interest is sex, which she finds “off-putting.”
Advising men to treat women with dignity, Destiny urged them to approach relationships with the same respect they would show to their own mothers and sisters.
“You can’t say you want a good woman but expect her to be loose, it doesn’t blend. If that’s what you’re after, there are places for that,” she added.
Her post has sparked conversations online, with many women echoing her sentiments about the challenges of navigating modern dating.
