Lady Gaga has abruptly cancelled her Miami show just minutes before she was set to take the stage, following medical advice.
The Bad Romance singer broke the news via Instagram Stories on Wednesday, apologizing to fans and explaining the difficult decision.
“Hi everyone, I am really so so sorry but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami,” lady Gaga wrote.
According to Lady Gaga, who is currently headlining her Mayhem Ball tour, her voice had been “extremely strained” during rehearsals the previous day. Both her doctor and vocal coach strongly advised against performing due to the risk it could pose to her vocal health.
“There is a significant risk based on all our combined experience with a show like ours, and as you know, I sing live every night – and even though this was a hard and agonising decision, I would be more afraid of the long-term implications on my voice,” she explained.
The Grammy-winning star added that while she regretted the last-minute cancellation, preserving her voice was the priority.
“I hope you can forgive me and accept my sincerest apologies for any disappointment. Let down. Inconvenience,” she wrote.
The Miami venue has assured fans that details regarding a rescheduled date and refund procedures will be announced soon.
