A Nigerian lady identified as Barokah (@opeyemisphasy) has shared a hilarious take on her experience living abroad, highlighting how different life feels compared to Nigeria.
In a viral post, she admitted that the “me and my husband” lifestyle overseas isn’t as exciting as many people back home imagine, especially for someone used to having plenty of people around.
She jokingly complained about how everything abroad seems too organized, particularly at bus stops, unlike the usual pushing and struggling for buses in Lagos.
“Why is everything so organized especially bus stops. Why can it not be like the struggling and fighting that happens for VI buses at Iyana Oworo? Hope I’m not traumatized,” she wrote, adding a laughing emoji.
Responding to her post, another X user, @Taofeekoye1, teased her by saying she was indeed “traumatized,” but assured her that with time, she would adjust to the stability abroad.
The post has since sparked laughter online, with many Nigerians agreeing that despite the stress, there’s a unique sense of community and “vibe” in the chaos of Lagos life that can’t be replicated elsewhere.
