British singer-songwriter Lola Young has cancelled her performance at the All Things Go Music Festival in Washington, D.C., a day after collapsing onstage during her set in New York.
The 24-year-old was performing her song Conceited at Forest Hills Stadium on Saturday (Sept. 27, 2025), when she suffered a medical issue and was escorted backstage by medical staff. Later, she reassured fans that she was “doing OK,” but on Sunday (Sept. 28), she announced that she would not be able to perform in D.C.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Lola Young expressed regret over disappointing fans:
“I’m sorry to confirm that I won’t be playing All Things Go in DC today. I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted, so I’m sorry to those who will be disappointed by this. I hope you’ll all give me another chance in the future. Thank you to all those who listen and care. To all the people that love to be mean online, pls give me a day off.”
Her collapse came just a day after she withdrew from another event, Audacy’s We Can Survive concert, which her manager, Nick Shymansky, explained was due to “a sensitive matter.”
Before her health scare in New York, the Big Brown Eyes singer spoke candidly to the crowd about personal struggles:
“Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool … sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”
Lola Young has been open about her challenges with sobriety, revealing in a recent interview with The Guardian that she checked into rehab last year to address drug addiction. Lola Young described recovery as a “constant journey” shaped by ups and downs, while also acknowledging her ADHD diagnosis.
“It’s been a struggle – I’ve definitely had to work on some internal healing while grappling with touring and stuff… But it teaches you a lot, being addicted to substances. It makes you more empathetic about other people that have gone through that.”
Despite the setbacks, Lola Young said she feels “grateful and appreciative” to have had access to help, noting that many others battling addiction don’t have the same support.
Her fans have since flooded her social media with well-wishes, hoping for her speedy recovery and return to the stage.
