Global music icon Mariah Carey is set to make history with a breathtaking performance in the Amazon rainforest. On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, she will headline the Amazônia Live – Today and Always concert, performing on a one-of-a-kind floating stage on the Guamá River in Belém, Brazil.
The event, produced by Rock World — the team behind Rock in Rio and The Town — aims to spotlight the urgent need to protect the Amazon and address the global climate crisis. It comes just two months before Belém hosts the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), amplifying its significance on the world stage.
Fresh from receiving the MTV VMA Vanguard Award, Mariah Carey will sing against the backdrop of an Amazon sunset. The floating stage design will be inspired by the Victoria Amazonica, the region’s iconic giant water lily.
Alongside Mariah Carey, the concert will showcase the vibrant culture of Pará, with opening performances from Dona Onete, Joelma, Gaby Amarantos, and Zaynara.
Beyond entertainment, the event’s purpose is clear: to raise awareness on protecting indigenous communities, promoting bioeconomy, and supporting reforestation efforts — all crucial steps in the fight to preserve the rainforest and curb carbon emissions.
The concert will be filmed as a special TV broadcast in Brazil. The series also includes a free mega-show by Brazilian star Ivete Sangalo on September 20 at the Mangueirão football stadium, expected to draw 46,000 fans in support of the conservation cause.
