Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo, popularly known as Omoborty, has shared her thoughts on the ongoing trend of comparing weddings, stressing that the scale or glamour of a ceremony does not determine the success of a marriage.
Taking to Instagram, Omoborty wrote:
“Money can decorate a hall, but it can’t decorate marriage. So let’s stop confusing money with taste. They are not the same thing. The level of a wedding doesn’t equate the success of the marriage… An intimate wedding does not mean there is no money, and an elaborate wedding does not automatically prove wealth.”
She went on to point out that some couples even run into debt just to fund a dream wedding, reminding the public that the true essence of marriage should be the couple’s happiness, not outsiders’ approval.
“Comparison truly irks me. People need to stop abeg!!!” she concluded.
