Peter Obi Disowns AI-Generated Images Used for Product Endorsements

Former Anambra State governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has distanced himself from the widespread use of AI-generated images portraying him as endorsing products and business schemes.

In a statement posted on his verified X handle on Saturday, Obi described the trend as unauthorised and fraudulent, noting that some individuals have exploited such images to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.

“I am aware that many individuals and organisations use AI-generated images of me to advertise various products online. This unauthorised use of my image has gone on blatantly lately,” Obi said.

While stressing that he supports genuine initiatives that benefit Nigerians, he emphasized that none of these adverts had his approval. He urged the public to remain vigilant and disregard any such endorsements linking him to products or schemes.
