Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Mr Sanku Comedy, has tragically passed away.
Reports revealed that Sanku was involved in a fatal car accident along the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Ibadan during the early hours of Monday.
News of the crash quickly circulated on social media, with images and videos showing the vehicle lodged in a ditch. Sanku Comedy, who was traveling with a friend, was rushed to the hospital but both were later confirmed dead a few hours after.
The young comedian, who began creating content in 2021, gained recognition for his unique storytelling style and comic delivery.
Nollywood actress, Funmi Awelewa, shared her grief in a post on Instagram. She noted that she had asked one of her students living near Bowen Hospital to check on Sanku after hearing of the accident. According to her, the student initially reported that he was responding to treatment. However, despite her prayers, he eventually passed away.
The news of his death has left fans and fellow entertainers mourning the loss of a rising talent in Nigeria’s comedy scene.
