Super Eagles Slip to 45th in Latest FIFA World Ranking

Ebuehi, Sadiq to join Super Eagles camp

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped one place to 45th in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday.

Super Eagles, who were previously ranked 44th, also fell to sixth position on the continent.

Morocco’s Atlas Lions remain Africa’s highest-ranked team at 11th, followed by Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Côte d’Ivoire in the top five.

Super Eagle’s recent outings in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers saw them edge Rwanda 1-0 in Uyo before playing out a 1-1 draw with South Africa in Bloemfontein.

Meanwhile, in the global standings, Spain have replaced Argentina at the summit, ending the South Americans’ two-year reign at the top. Slovakia were the biggest movers, climbing 10 places in the new ranking.
