Tacha Blasts Nigerians for Blaming Only Tinubu, Urges Citizens to Hold Governors and LG Chairmen Accountable

Tacha Blasts Nigerians for Blaming Only Tinubu

Former Big Brother Naija housemate and influencer, Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has criticized Nigerians for directing all their frustrations solely at President Bola Tinubu while ignoring the failures of governors, senators, and local government chairmen.

In a viral video posted on Monday, Tacha referenced the recent ₦2.2 trillion disbursed by the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) to the federal, state, and local governments, stressing that funds are available but grossly mismanaged.

“₦44 billion, I didn’t say million, ₦44 billion has been disbursed to a local government chairman,” she said. “Watch how they’ll do absolutely nothing with it, because at the end of the day, they understand that Nigerians will come out and drag Tinubu. They’ll come out and drag the presidency.”

According to her, public outrage is often misdirected at the president or Lagos State, which she described as one of the best-performing states, while underperforming leaders at the grassroots level escape scrutiny.

“It be like say only two people Nigerians like to drag for this country. Every Nigerian has believed that their problem is Tinubu. Even with the fact that as little as a local government chairman’s office is, their responsibilities are a lot and they are absolutely doing nothing,” she said.

The reality star further argued that many citizens cannot even identify their local government chairman, let alone hold them accountable.

“Money has been given to your state governors, money has been given to your local government chairman, your House of Reps members, your senators. Hold them by their neck, let them deliver. If you start dragging these people individually, we’ll see that Nigeria will change,” she added.

Tacha concluded by urging Nigerians to “drag everybody” in leadership positions instead of focusing on a single political office.

Recall that during its August 2025 meeting, FAAC announced the allocation of ₦2.2 trillion among the three tiers of government, one of the highest monthly disbursements in recent years.
