Taylor Swift’s much-anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, is set for release on October 3, and fans are in for a spectacular celebration. The pop icon revealed that a special event, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, will run in cinemas from October 3 to 5, giving Swifties a chance to experience exclusive content on the big screen.
As part of the event, attendees will enjoy the “exclusive world premiere” of the music video for The Fate of Ophelia, alongside behind-the-scenes footage of the album-making process. Taylor Swift made the announcement on Instagram, sharing a poster for the event and inviting fans to join the “dazzling soirée.”
“I hereby invite you to a dazzling soirée, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: Oct 3 – Oct 5 only in cinemas!
“You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single The Fate of Ophelia, along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl.
“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan … Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged.
“Showtimes may vary, so check your local listings. (sic),” Swift wrote.
Tickets are now available at releasepartyofashowgirl.com.
In a separate video, the singer highlighted the artistic details of the upcoming project, saying:
“The CDs all have photocards in them, the vinyls have a poem inside, a unique poem, more images than we ever planned. We wanted this album to feel luxurious as a nod to the luxury that a showgirl puts on when she is on stage.”
To build excitement further, Taylor Swift has launched her own SiriusXM station, Taylor’s Channel 13, which will run from September 20 to October 19 across North America. The channel will feature Taylor Swift biggest singles, album deep cuts, “From the Vault” tracks, and live performances spanning her career.
Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s president and chief content officer, praised the collaboration:
“Taylor Swift continues to not only dominate the music world, but also every aspect of pop culture. Her chart-topping, award-winning songs resonate with every generation of listeners, and we are thrilled to deliver our subscribers a place to celebrate their fandom and the new album with the launch of Taylor’s Channel 13.”
The special station launches 13 days ahead of the album’s debut, adding yet another layer of excitement for Swifties worldwide.
