Comedian and actor Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, has shared how he narrowly escaped death after a car he was in caught fire over the weekend.
In a testimony posted on Instagram on Wednesday, the 42-year-old said he was still in shock over the incident, describing it as nothing short of a miracle.
According to him, the ordeal began after the car he initially used for an event suffered a burst tyre on the highway. He quickly secured another vehicle and continued his journey.
“Arriving at the venue, I was changing my outfit in the car, not knowing the tank — already half-filled with fuel — had caught fire,” Woli Agba recounted.
He explained that despite visible flames, the vehicle did not explode while he was inside. Onlookers initially thought it was just a cable burning, and several fire extinguishers failed to put out the blaze.
“When there was no more option, they decided to push the car out of the event centre so the burning wouldn’t affect other cars. While they abandoned the car, expecting it to explode, another man no one could describe came with an industrial fire extinguisher, quenched the fire all by himself, and left,” he narrated.
Expressing gratitude, Woli Agba wrote:
“When God decides to save, even rules are suspended. I was sitting inside the fire that could have ended a season of The Prophet with the oil of Gladness. To God alone be all the glory forever.”
The skitmaker, who leads the popular Instagram Parish Ministry (IPM), is widely known for his comedy skits infused with Christian themes.
