Nigerian music legend Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia has dismissed viral claims that he was arrested in London following an alleged altercation with his wife, Natasha Osawaru.
The speculation began after blogger Tosin Silverdam alleged that the singer clashed with Natasha in a taxi shortly after arriving in the UK for a concert scheduled for Thursday, October 2.
According to the claim, Natasha reportedly smashed bottles during the argument, leading to 2Baba’s supposed arrest.
2Baba Responds: “I Don Tire for Allegedly”
Addressing the rumors in a video posted on Instagram on Friday, 2Baba appeared alongside Natasha and close friends, laughing off the story.
One of his associates teased:
“Oh boy, dem don alleged you. Allegedly, dem say you way dey here, allegedly, dem don alleged you.”
2Baba went on to clarify that the cancelled London show had nothing to do with a domestic dispute but was due to a medical emergency.
“First of all, I want to say everyone that came out, I appreciate you. We had a medical emergency, it was tough. To the organizers and everyone that came out, we go regroup and make something beautiful happen. And please, if una no sabi something, make una no talk abeg. This allegedly, I don tire,” he said.
No Evidence of Arrest
At the time of this report, no police records or credible sources have supported the claim of 2Baba’s arrest in London. His public denial has reassured fans who were concerned after his UK performance was suddenly cancelled.
