Nollywood star Adesua Etomi-Wellington has shared how she narrowly escaped death in June after a terrifying medical emergency that led to an unplanned surgery.
The Wedding Party actress opened up about the incident in an emotional post on Instagram, revealing that it happened while she was in the United Kingdom with her husband, Banky W, and their sons for a ministry trip.
According to Adesua, the experience was so intense that she could have lost her life if even “one single detail of that day were different.”
She wrote:
“I could have lost my life in June of this year. I went through a horrific incident that landed me in unplanned surgery. The surgery was ironically the least dramatic part of what I went through.”
Reflecting on how she survived, the actress added:
“I shudder when I think about it. I can literally look back over that day and trace how God’s hand was all over the situation. There’s nothing anyone can tell me — God is real!”
She concluded by urging fans to be kinder and more appreciative of life, saying she’ll never take another day for granted.
Adesua’s revelation has since sparked an outpouring of love and prayers from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
The actress, who married singer Banky W in 2017, shares a son, Zaiah, with him. The couple announced in October 2024 that they were expecting their second child.
