Police to Begin Nationwide Enforcement of Tinted Glass Permits from October 2

The Federal High Court in Warri has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police to maintain the status quo in the ongoing legal battle over the controversial tinted glass permit.

The case, Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025: John Aikpokpo-Martins v. Inspector-General of Police & Nigeria Police Force, came up for hearing today.

In delivering its interim order, the Court directed the law enforcement agency to respect judicial processes until further proceedings are concluded.

Speaking on the development, Kunle Edun, SAN, who led the legal team, described the order as a significant step toward safeguarding the rule of law while the substantive issues in the case are being considered.
