Human rights activist Deji Adeyanju has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, following viral reports alleging domestic violence in their marriage.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Adeyanju shared his perspective on the situation, arguing that many women remain in toxic and abusive relationships because of their financial dependence and desire for luxury.
According to him, women who live lavish lifestyles without financial stability often feel trapped in such unions, tolerating mistreatment from men to maintain their material comfort.
He wrote:
“Most poor and broke Nigerian girls with expensive taste have no option except tolerate shit from men. She will go back to him on her knees.”
Adeyanju’s comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that financial independence empowers women to leave abusive relationships, while others criticized his remarks as insensitive to victims of domestic violence.
The activist’s statement comes amid widespread public concern for Regina Daniels after a video surfaced showing the actress in distress, alleging physical abuse from her husband.
