Country music icon Dolly Parton has reassured fans that she’s alive, well, and still working hard, following growing online rumours about her health.
In a lighthearted post shared on social media, the 79-year-old music legend posted a video of herself on the set of a commercial shoot with the caption:
“I ain’t dead yet!”
Smiling at the camera, Dolly Parton began,
“Well, today’s October the eighth and obviously, I’m here! I know lately everybody thinks I’m sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you?! I’m workin’ hard here!”
She thanked fans for their concern and prayers, explaining that while she’s been managing a few health matters recently, there’s nothing serious to worry about.
“When [my husband] Carl passed, I didn’t take care of myself, so I let a lot of things go that I should’ve been taking care of. So when I finally got around to it, the doctors said, ‘We need to take care of this and that.’ Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things.”
Dolly Parton added that she remains grateful for the love and support of her fans, noting that her faith and resilience continue to keep her going strong.
The “Jolene” hitmaker’s playful message has since gone viral, reminding everyone that Dolly Parton isn’t slowing down anytime soon — and certainly not ready to say goodbye just yet. 💖✨
