LSU basketball star and rapper Flau’Jae Johnson has made it clear that she’s not in support of celebrating political podcaster Charlie Kirk, following his recent passing.
After news broke of the conservative commentator’s death, social media was flooded with mixed reactions.
Amid the public debate, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry proposed that the state become the first to erect a statue in Kirk’s honor — a suggestion that immediately stirred controversy.
The proposal didn’t sit well with Flau’Jae, who voiced her disapproval online, emphasizing that she doesn’t want to see a statue of Kirk anywhere near her campus.
The 20-year-old athlete and rapper wrote:
“For the sake of clarity, if you align yourself with or endorse his racist rhetoric and discriminatory views toward people of color, I respectfully ask that you utilize the unfollow option at the top right of my profile.”
Johnson’s response has been widely praised by fans and supporters, with many commending her for standing firm on her values and using her platform to speak out against racism and discrimination.
