Udinese goalkeeper and Super Eagles star, Maduka Okoye, has expressed his joy after returning to action following a two-month suspension.
The Nigerian international had been banned for his alleged involvement in a betting scandal but made his comeback in Udinese’s 1-1 draw against Cremonese on Monday night — his first appearance of the season.
Taking to social media, the 26-year-old shared an emotional message celebrating his return to the pitch.
“Happy to be back, back to doing what I love most,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Back to fighting alongside my teammates, back to fighting in front of our fans, back to doing what I am doing since a young boy.
“Back to following the path my father fought for, back to having fun, back to chasing dreams, back to doing what I’ll die for.”
With his return to form, Okoye is now being considered for inclusion in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs against Gabon.
