NASA has responded to Kim Kardashian’s recent comments questioning the authenticity of the 1969 moon landing.
During Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians, the 45-year-old reality star and business mogul claimed that astronaut Buzz Aldrin’s historic trip to the moon was staged — reigniting a long-debunked conspiracy theory.
Her remarks quickly went viral, prompting NASA to issue an official response via social media after Entertainment Weekly contacted the agency for comment.
“Yes, @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon before… six times!”
— Sean Duffy, NASA’s Acting Administrator
Duffy went on to emphasize the agency’s ongoing lunar ambitions under the Artemis program, noting that the United States “won the last space race” and intends to lead once again under President Donald Trump’s leadership.
The original Apollo 11 mission in July 1969 saw astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin become the first humans to walk on the moon — a moment still regarded as one of the most significant achievements in human history.
Kardashian’s statement has since sparked a wave of debate online, with many criticizing her for spreading misinformation while others defended her right to question historical narratives.
