Controversial Nigerian cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, better known as Odumeje, has once again set social media abuzz after describing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “a businessman rather than a president.”
In a viral video, the self-styled “Indaboski” argued that true leadership is about national development and citizens’ welfare, stressing that Nigeria’s political class has failed in this regard.
Odumeje drew comparisons with global figures such as former U.S. President Donald Trump, Burkina Faso’s Ibrahim Traoré, and China’s Xi Jinping, whom he described as leaders genuinely committed to building their nations.
He accused Nigerian leaders of prioritizing wealth accumulation for their families while neglecting the country’s growth, lamenting that despite being nicknamed the “Giant of Africa,” Nigeria has instead become a “giant of failure.”
“I don’t know who’s calling Tinubu president. Tinubu is just a businessman. If you want to talk about a president, call Trump, Ibrahim Traoré, Xi Jinping, and many others. They are true leaders. Leaders develop their country so that their citizens benefit, but the ones we have in Nigeria are busy acquiring wealth for their children. Nigeria is a giant of failure, not a Giant of Africa.”
