‘Love Island USA’ star Olandria Carthern has spoken out following a shocking incident during a livestream that featured fellow Islanders Huda and Louis, where a caller used a racial slur against her.
The offensive remark — in which the caller referred to Olandria using the N-word — prompted visible laughter from Huda and Louis, sparking widespread outrage across social media. Many fans and viewers have since accused the pair of failing to condemn the racist comment in real time.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Olandria addressed the issue directly, saying she would not tolerate or ignore racism in any form.
She wrote:
“I do not condone racism of any kind, nor do I entertain it. That kind of language is never acceptable. Not in anger, not as a joke, not ever. Words like that carry generations of pain, and pretending otherwise only keeps the cycle going. Defending it, laughing about it, or making excuses is even worse.”
The reality TV star added that she remains focused on uplifting her community and hopes to use this moment to call for accountability and education around racism.
“While I anticipate this will result in surface-level apologies that fade in a few days, I’d like to transform this moment into something actionable,” she continued. “I encourage those who participated in the stream and their followers to donate to organizations such as the UNCF, NAACP, and Thurgood Marshall College Fund. I’ll be making a personal donation as well.”
Olandria also shared donation links for HBCUs and underfunded educational initiatives for Black students, urging her fans to support causes that make a lasting impact.
