Actress Peggy Ovire’s birthday celebration has stirred social media reactions after her husband, actor Frederick Leonard, failed to acknowledge her special day publicly.
Peggy marked her birthday on Tuesday, sharing stunning new photos on Instagram. However, Frederick’s noticeable silence drew attention from fans, many of whom flooded her comment section with questions about their marriage.
One user, Oluchi Martha, wrote, “Why your hubby no post you, e get as e be.”
Another, Sandy Osazee, commented, “Wedding ring is already in the bin.”
Similarly, Anthony Harret added, “Hmmmmmm ur hubby no wish u happy birthday 😢 it’s real.”
Several fans also pointed out that Peggy had not been wearing her wedding ring in recent posts, further fueling speculation that all may not be well between the couple.
Peggy and Frederick tied the knot on November 19, 2022, in Asaba, Delta State, during a star-studded ceremony attended by their Nollywood colleagues. The duo, once admired for their public display of affection, began facing marriage rumors in late 2024.
In December 2024, Frederick addressed the speculation, slamming bloggers for spreading false narratives about their marriage.
“Dear idle and useless bloggers, leave me and my wife’s name out of your contaminated blogs. This marriage is not your business,” he wrote on Instagram.
He also defended Peggy’s choice not to wear her ring or post him frequently, saying,
“She can post Christmas photos without me in them. She can rest her fingers and not wear her ring — I bought the ring and I’m not complaining. She can go on vacation without me, it’s not your business.”
Earlier this year, Peggy subtly responded to ongoing rumors, writing,
“No matter what room I step in, I’m coming in as me.”
