Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté has described Galatasaray fans as “crazy” while reflecting on the Reds’ 1-0 loss in their Champions League clash on Tuesday night.
A first-half penalty from Victor Osimhen sealed victory for the Turkish giants at Rams Park, leaving Arne Slot’s sidedisappointed.
Speaking after the game, Konaté admitted he was not surprised by the result.
“It’s no surprise that we lost to Galatasaray. They are a very strong team, and it’s difficult to play against them. They have crazy fans and an atmosphere. We knew that already,” he said (via Habersarikirmizi).
The Frenchman, however, expressed his frustration over the decisive penalty, saying:
“We are very disappointed because we lost 1-0 due to a penalty. I’m not sure if it was a penalty or not. We have to keep that in mind and focus on the rest of the season.”
