“I’ve already taken money” – Bisola Aiyeola Reveals Why She Has Yet to Feature in a Yoruba Epic Film Despite Multiple Offers

Actress Bisola Aiyeola has revealed the real reason she has not appeared in any Yoruba epic film, despite receiving numerous invitations from filmmakers over the years. The 39-year-old star said her tight work schedule and prior commitments have repeatedly made it impossible to accept such roles.

Speaking during an interview at the premiere of Odunlade Adekola’s new movie War Lord on Wednesday, Bisola explained that timing has always been the major barrier.

According to her, “God willing, it will come soon, but every time I’ve been called to be in one— and I’ve been called to be in quite a number— the timing is just not right. I’ve already taken money from some other gig, or I have something else happening, and the timing just doesn’t work for filming. But fingers crossed, very soon.”

The former Big Brother Naija housemate added that although she genuinely wants to explore Yoruba epic roles, the long and intense shooting schedules often clash with her previously booked projects.

Bisola, who emerged first runner-up on BBNaija 2017, has since become one of Nollywood’s most versatile talents. She has starred in several notable productions such as Picture Perfect, Ovy’s Voice, Gold Statue, The Bling Lagosians, Sugar Rush, This Lady Called Life, Payday, Introducing the Kujus, and the hit web series Skinny Girl in Transit, where she played the beloved character Didi.

Beyond acting, she also co-produced Introducing the Kujus and continues to expand her footprint in film, television, and hosting— a packed schedule that keeps her in high demand.
