Burna Boy posted a screenshot of an updated ticketing page on his Instagram Story on Friday, showing the two shows removed from the schedule. Organisers have confirmed that all other dates on the tour remain unchanged.
The cancellations follow a viral incident in Colorado where Burna Boy paused his performance to eject a front-row couple after noticing the woman appeared to be asleep. Online critics later noted that the woman had recently suffered a personal loss, calling the move insensitive and sparking widespread backlash.
Addressing the criticism during an Instagram Live session, Burna Boy defended himself, saying he only wants “supporters who buy tickets and stay engaged throughout the show.” His comments intensified the backlash, with some fans announcing plans to boycott upcoming performances.
While Burna Boy’s team has not released an official explanation for the cancelled dates, industry insiders suggest the negative publicity — and a possible decline in ticket sales — may have played a role. Refunds for the affected shows are reportedly being processed.
