Grammy-winning Afrobeat superstar Burna Boy made headlines during his concert in Colorado on Wednesday after halting his performance to confront a sleeping couple in the audience.
Midway through his set, Burna Boy noticed a fan and his girlfriend asleep in the crowd. Pointing at them, he reportedly said,
“Bro, I’m not doing no more songs until you take her home. Wallahi, I’m not doing another song until you go home.”
The couple immediately got up, gathered their belongings, and left the venue. The singer then resumed his performance, much to the relief of the cheering audience.
The incident quickly went viral on social media, sparking reactions from fans — some applauding Burna Boy’s commitment to his performance, while others found the moment humorous.
This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has taken action against disruptive fans. At the 2025 Lagos Countdown concert, he removed a fan who jumped on stage, explaining,
“Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when I’m performing… I got PTSD.”
Similarly, in Lusaka, Zambia, he confronted a fan who allegedly tried to steal his ring during a show.
Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy has established himself as a global ambassador of Afrobeat, delivering hits from acclaimed albums like African Giant and Love, Damini, and continuously commanding stages worldwide with his high-energy performances.
