Chelsea have climbed to second place in the Premier League standings following a 2-0 victory against Burnley in Saturday’s early kick-off.
The Blues entered the November international break on the back of a commanding 3-0 win over Wolves, and manager Enzo Maresca’s side ensured they continued their winning streak with a composed performance at Turf Moor.
The opener came early through Pedro Neto, who capitalized on a perfectly scooped cross from Jamies Gittens to put the Blues ahead before the interval. Despite Burnley’s attempts to respond and level the score, Chelsea doubled their advantage in the second half with a strike from midfielder Enzo Fernandez, securing all three points.
With the win, Chelsea now have 23 points, edging ahead of Manchester City by a single point, though City are set to play Newcastle later in the evening. The Blues remain three points behind league leaders Arsenal, keeping the race at the top of the table highly competitive.
