Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has shared personal insights into his romantic life, describing it as “chaotic.”
Speaking during a recent episode of the Reprezent Podcast, the award-winning singer revealed that the Lagos dating scene served as the inspiration behind his popular track ‘Ashawo.’
“In my song ‘Ashawo,’ I was trying to paint a picture of what the dating scene is like in Lagos where I live. It’s a mess,” Fireboy explained.
Reflecting further on his experiences with relationships, he admitted that despite the turbulence, he tends to find stability in female companionship.
“It is chaotic. But I thrive with girls. When I’m under pressure, I usually find balance in girls,” he said.
The singer, known for his soulful blend of Afrobeats and R&B, has in the past spoken about how emotional experiences — including heartbreak — influence his songwriting. He once mentioned that he looked forward to experiencing heartbreak to “make more genuine music.”
While Fireboy continues to captivate fans with his lyrical storytelling and smooth vocals, he has not publicly confirmedbeing in any romantic relationship.
