Meghan Markle is reportedly making her long-awaited return to acting, eight years after she left Hollywood to become a working royal.
The Duchess of Sussex is set to star in a new film titled Close Personal Friends alongside Lily Collins, Brie Larson, and Jack Quaid, marking her first major screen appearance since stepping down as a senior royal.
According to reports, Meghan will play herself in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios production, which follows the story of two couples — one famous and one not — exploring the complexities of fame, friendship, and privacy.
The 43-year-old was spotted on set in Pasadena, Los Angeles, filming scenes for the project, which is already generating major buzz across Hollywood.
A source told The Sun:
“This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves. She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right. Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”
Before her royal life, Meghan was best known for her breakout role as Rachel Zane in the hit legal drama Suits, as well as appearances in Horrible Bosses, Get Him To The Greek, and Remember Me.
Since stepping down from royal duties with Prince Harry in 2020, Meghan has focused on philanthropy, business ventures, and media production through their Archewell Foundation. Her return to film marks a new chapter in her post-royal career, merging her Hollywood roots with her global influence.
