South African DJ and social media personality Cyan Boujee has once again lost her TikTok account — this time, just as she was approaching 400,000 followers.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Friday, Cyan, whose real name is Honour Zuma, revealed that her account was removed without prior notice, leaving her disappointed but reflective.
“I know you guys love me, and I love you guys so much too, but there are people that don’t love me, and because of that I got banned again on TikTok,” she said.
“I don’t have TikTok anymore. I was about to reach 400k followers, but the enemy won this time.”
“Maybe It’s a Sign” — Cyan Boujee Hints at Moving On
The influencer, known for her bold and confident online persona, hinted that this latest ban might be a sign to refocus her energy elsewhere.
“I guess maybe my content was too premium, and this is a sign that I should maybe focus on other stuff,” she added.
This is not the first time Cyan has faced trouble on the platform. Earlier in the year, her main TikTok account, which had over 1.7 million followers, was permanently banned following backlash over her promotion of the controversial Alabuga Start Russian programme — a campaign that drew sharp criticism online.
“I Lost a Lot” — Cyan Reflects on Past Backlash
During a previous appearance on the L-Tido Podcast, Cyan opened up about how the incident affected her personally and professionally.
“I lost a lot. I lost some dignity. I have a lot of anxiety. I lost my TikTok account. This is a huge learning curve for me,” she said.
“But more than anything, I’m a victim. Even if I’m sorry for not doing my homework and not being able to represent myself properly in the situation, I still believe I’m a victim.”
She added that the fallout didn’t only impact her, but also her loved ones and team.
“It was bad for everyone — my team, my family. Everyone received backlash, not just me.”
