Fresh reports have confirmed that newly elected Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) President, Abubakar Yakubu, was involved in a fatal car accident in the Surulere area of Lagos.
Yakubu, who narrowly clinched victory in the AGN elections by defeating Rita Daniels 116 votes to 113, was reportedly behind the wheel when the crash occurred.
According to Sahara Reporters, one person lost their life in the accident.
Following the incident, Yakubu was taken into custody at the Barracks Police Station, Surulere, where an investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
As of now, authorities have not released an official statement regarding the cause of the accident or preliminary findings from the investigation.
