Barcelona have confirmed that midfielder Dani Olmo will spend around four weeks on the treatment table after dislocating his left shoulder during Tuesday’s 3–1 victory over Atletico Madrid.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the club explained that medical tests were completed earlier in the day and that Olmo would undergo conservative (non-surgical) treatment, with his recovery time estimated at one month.
The Spain international picked up the injury in the process of scoring Barcelona’s second goal of the night — a moment that helped the Catalans move four points clear at the top of La Liga. Olmo landed awkwardly after finishing off the play, immediately signalling discomfort.
The 27-year-old has endured a difficult spell with injuries since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2024, repeatedly missing key stretches of the campaign.
His latest setback adds to Barcelona’s growing list of absentees, with Fermin Lopez, Gavi, and goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen also sidelined. The timing is particularly tough for manager Hansi Flick as the club prepares for a crucial Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt next week.
