Tonto Dikeh Warns Nigerians

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has opened up about her long battle with addiction, revealing that she began smoking at the age of 13 and struggled with it for 27 years.

The actress made the disclosure while sharing a testimony during a Sunday service at Streams of Joy International Church. She also spoke about overcoming other personal struggles, including alcohol addiction, masturbation, and long-standing anger issues.

Describing her experiences as a form of “demonic oppression,” Dikeh said her freedom came through divine intervention, adding that noticeable changes began when she became more intentional about her spiritual growth.

She explained that her smoking habit started early due to exposure at home, noting that her father was a smoker. Using her story as a warning, Tonto advised parents to be mindful of the habits their children are exposed to.

The 40-year-old further shared that she was recently healed from what she described as uncontrollable anger, which had negatively affected her relationships and personal life.

Following her testimony, the founder of Streams of Joy, Pastor Jerry Eze, prayed for her, declaring that the burden of sin had been broken and describing her as a voice destined to impact her generation.
