I’d Rather Man City Be 10 Points Clear in Title Race – Guardiola

Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted he would have preferred his side to hold a commanding 10-point lead over their Premier League title rivals.

Guardiola made the remark during his press conference on Friday ahead of City’s trip to Nottingham Forest.

City currently sit second on the table, two points behind leaders Arsenal and one point ahead of Aston Villa. A win in Saturday’s early kick-off at the City Ground would take the defending champions to the top of the table.

“I’d prefer to be 10 points clear of everyone, but it is what it is,” Guardiola said. “Arsenal are doing really well, but we are there.”

The Spaniard stressed that the season is still at an early stage, noting City’s strong position across competitions.

“We’re still in the end of December. In the Champions League, we are up there; in the Premier League, we are there; Carabao Cup semi-finals, and we start the FA Cup soon,” he added.
