Katie Lowes (born on September 22, 1982, 43 years old) is from Queens, New York City, and was brought up by her parents in the tight-knit community of Port Washington on Long Island. Her father, Kevin Lowes, was of Irish Catholic descent, and her mother, Barbara J. Lowes, was of Ashkenazi Jewish heritage.
Katie Lowes graduated from Paul D. Schreiber Senior High School in 2000, where her love for theatre first grew, and then earned a BFA in Acting from New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts.
Career
Katie Lowes made her first on-screen appearance in 2004, starring in the FX series Rescue Me. This was the beginning of her long and successful journey in the television and movie industry.
Before her leading role in Scandal, Lowes had appeared in many TV shows, including The Sopranos, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, and Castle, which helped people recognize her as an actress capable of playing a wide range of roles.
