Nigerian actress and media personality Toke Makinwa has sparked conversation after sharing her views on infidelity and gender differences.
Speaking on a recent episode of her Toke Moments podcast, Toke Makinwa claimed that women cheat more than men but are generally more discreet about it.
According to her, cheating is often easier for women compared to men, who typically have to invest more time, money and effort to be unfaithful.
Toke Makinwa explained that this realisation has shaped her perspective on relationships, noting that cheating is no longer an automatic dealbreaker for her.
“Cheating is not a dealbreaker for me, but it comes with a caveat,” she said. “When I say this, some people think I’m encouraging cheating. No. As I grow older, I realise that it’s not just men who can cheat.”
She added that women often receive attention easily, making infidelity more accessible to them.
“Do you know how easy it is for a woman to cheat? It’s even easier for us. Men will spend money, effort and time to cheat, but women are usually the ones being approached,” she stated.
Toke Makinwa further argued that a woman’s faithfulness is often a matter of self-control rather than lack of opportunity.
“A woman not cheating is not because she cannot cheat; it’s probably because she has strength,” she said. “Women cheat more, but they know how to hide it.”
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with many debating her views on fidelity and relationships.
