Nigerian on-air personality Tolu Oniru-Demuren, popularly known as Toolz, has publicly slammed a Nigerian man on X (formerly Twitter) for mocking the late actor Jnr Pope’s wife, Jennifer, over claims that she had “moved on” less than a year after her husband’s death.
Jnr Pope tragically passed away in a boat accident while heading to a movie set, leaving behind his wife and their three sons. Since his passing, Jennifer has largely maintained a low profile while navigating life as a widow and mother.
On Sunday, December 7, a video surfaced online showing Jennifer and actress Mercy Johnson stepping out in beautiful attire for an event.

While many social media users were happy to see her looking bright and composed, one X-user criticised her appearance, claiming she had moved on too quickly. He further made a distasteful remark advising men to ensure they “don’t d!e young.”
Toolz, who came across the insensitive comment, wasted no time in calling out the individual.
She firmly condemned his statement, describing it as cruel and unnecessary. Her response sparked conversations online about grief policing, societal expectations placed on widows, and the unfair scrutiny women face after losing their spouses.
Many users have since backed Toolz, applauding her for defending Jennifer and reminding critics that healing, recovery, and movement through grief do not follow a fixed timeline.
