Popular X influencer Alabi Lawrence has reportedly had a social media user arrested following a series of trolling posts directed at his wife, Morata, over sensitive comments relating to infertility.
The online feud began after a blog announced the birth of singer 2Baba and his partner Natasha’s newborn. Reacting to the post, the user commented, “God, when???, prayers ups for them Nigerians,” alongside images that were widely interpreted as a mockery of Alabi’s wife.
In another post, the same user joined a trending conversation with the caption, “This ‘If you reach your turn’ trend too funny,” attaching a photo of Morata with the text, “If e reach your turn dey think about money.”
The individual further escalated the trolling by responding to a prompt asking users to define “growth,” sharing a photoshopped image that falsely implied Alabi was celebrating his wife’s pregnancy, with the caption, “Yes, finally… Congratulations guys.”
Offended by what he considered malicious and deeply personal attacks on his family, Alabi reportedly involved the police, leading to the arrest of the user behind the posts.
Videos currently circulating on social media show the individual at a police station, suggesting that law enforcement action has already been taken. However, as of the time of reporting, there has been no official confirmation or statement from the police regarding the arrest or the specific charges involved.
The incident has sparked renewed debate online about cyberbullying, personal boundaries, and the consequences of trolling on social media platforms.
