Nigerian singer and record producer Young Jonn has urged critics to respect his craft and stop undermining the years of effort he has put into his career.
The Dada hitmaker took to X to address recent backlash, where some listeners accused him of being repetitive in his music.
“If you’re not a fan of my work, leave it at that! Don’t come here and water down my years of hard work!” he wrote.
Young Jonn, whose real name is John Saviours Udomboso, began his career as a producer in 2010 and rose to fame through his work with Olamide’s YBNL. In 2022, he transitioned into singing after signing with Chocolate City.
His debut single Dada became a major success, and the remix featuring Davido cemented his place as one of Nigeria’s rising pop stars.
Despite the criticism, Young Jonn’s message makes it clear he wants opponents to either enjoy the music—or simply move on.
