Reality TV star Annie Mthembu has shared emotional reflections on her time on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Africa, following the conclusion of the Showmax Original series.
The show, filmed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, brought together fan favourites from Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa for a cultural and personal journey centered on connection, growth, and sisterhood.
Representing The Real Housewives of Durban were Annie Mthembu, Angel Ndlela, and Jojo Robinson. Johannesburg was represented by Christall Kay and Evodia Mogase.
From Nairobi, the cast featured Dr Catherine Masitsa and Zena Nyambu, while Nigeria was represented by Princess Jecoco from Abuja and Mariam Timmer from Lagos.
Taking to social media after the final episode, Annie expressed gratitude for the experience and reflected on how deeply it impacted her.
“Ep 10. Thankful. I had such an incredible experience in Brazil. I was exposed to so many new cultures and had the opportunity to learn more about our beautiful African continent through these phenomenal women,” she wrote.
Annie went on to highlight personal lessons she said she learned from each castmate. Speaking on Jojo Robinson, she noted:
“Let your light shine. Be exactly who you are. The right people will gravitate towards you.”
From Zena Nyambu, she said she learned that “there is strength in silence and in protecting your peace,” while praising Evodia Mogase with the words:
“Quiet authority speaks far louder than words ever could.”
She described Dr Catherine Masitsa’s approach to life as a reminder to “live every moment to its fullest” and credited Angel Ndlela for reinforcing her faith, saying:
“Prayer is a superpower. Trust and believe in what God is doing.”
Annie also shared that Mariam Timmer taught her that “looking good does half the job, speaking with confidence and authority does the rest,” while Princess Jecoco reminded her to “stand your ground, but lead with empathy.”
She concluded her reflection with a note of gratitude and growth:
“I came seeking experience, and I left carrying wisdom, sisterhood, and a deeper trust in God’s timing.”
The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Africa has been praised for its pan-African representation, emotional depth, and celebration of diverse perspectives, marking a standout moment for the franchise on the continent.
