Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has opened up on his decision to leave Old Trafford, describing the move as the start of a “new chapter” in his career.
The Brazilian joined the Red Devils from Real Madrid in 2022 and quickly became a key figure in the squad, enjoying his spell in the Premier League. Despite considering a move away from the club in 2025, the 33-year-old ultimately chose to remain before now deciding to move on.
In a heartfelt farewell video released by Manchester United on Thursday, Casemiro spoke warmly about his time at the club and his enduring connection to it.
“Manchester United holds a special place in my heart. I’ll always carry this club with me for all my life,” he said.
“I’ll always be a Manchester United fan, my whole family too.
“It is not a goodbye, it’s just a new chapter in my life. I’ll always be with Manchester United.”
Casemiro’s message suggests his departure is driven not by dissatisfaction, but by a personal desire for a fresh challenge, as he prepares to take the next step in an illustrious career that has spanned Europe’s biggest stages.
