Nollywood actress and former beauty queen, Ifeoma Nebe, has opened up about how she sets firm boundaries with fans and maintains personal peace amid the pressures of fame.
In a candid conversation with Saturday Sun, the Enugu State-born actress spoke on navigating public attention while protecting her private life, particularly when dealing with overzealous male fans.
“I’m a very direct person. I will calmly state that I have no intentions with you, and if that doesn’t work, I will block you. I do not have time to over-explain. Most messages, I don’t even open. I really hate stress, especially with stubborn male fans,” Nebe explained, highlighting the importance of clarity and firmness in her interactions.
Looking ahead to 2026, the actress shared that she is embracing a fresh mindset. Unlike previous years where she meticulously set resolutions and goals, Nebe has decided to take a more relaxed approach this year.
“I’ve decided not to set any expectations for myself regarding 2026. Every year, I write down resolutions, expectations, and goals, but this time, I’m going in blind. Whatever I see, I deal with, and whatever comes, I thank God. I want to allow life to play out peacefully. Maybe 2026 will surprise me in every beautiful way possible,” she said.
Beyond professional and personal boundaries, Nebe offered advice for young people, emphasizing faith, patience, and self-discovery. She encouraged developing a personal relationship with God, rather than relying solely on inherited beliefs or routine practices.
“People need to experience God for themselves. Not the experience our parents or Sunday services give, but a personal one. If you do, you’ll understand that everything in life has its season, and that simplifies life,” she said.
Reflecting on her own journey, Nebe admitted that growth often requires starting over. “I had to relearn everything from the beginning again.
Read books on life, have scheduled dates with God. The minute you decide to let go and allow Him to take control, you’ll be shocked at the boundaries you’ll break.”
She also cautioned against unnecessary pressure and comparison. “Never be in a rush to accomplish everything. You need patience, faith, and a lot of peace within you,” she advised.
Ending on a note of quiet confidence, Nebe shared an Igbo proverb that continues to guide her life: “Onye kwe, chi ya ekwe”—“If you agree, your God will agree.”
