Nollywood actress Dakore Egbuson has joined her brother, actor Timini Egbuson, in mourning the death of their father, Samuel Egbuson.
Dakore announced the passing in an emotional Instagram post on Monday, sharing a series of photos of herself and her late father. She revealed that he died on January 1, 2026.
In her message, the actress expressed deep grief as she reflected on her father’s legacy and influence on the family.
“My dearest Papa passed away on the 1st of January 2026. Daddy, may your soul rest in perfect peace and power,” she wrote.
Dakore said she was heartbroken by the loss but grateful that her father was no longer in pain. She highlighted the memories they shared, his love for music and style, and the values of excellence he instilled in his children.
“I’m grateful for the memories and the laughter, your legacy of excellence that you instilled in my siblings and I,” she added, describing him as deeply loved and missed.
She also appealed to her followers to keep her family in their prayers as they navigate the difficult period of mourning.
Dakore’s post came a day after Timini Egbuson publicly announced their father’s death. Sharing photos of their late father on Instagram, Timini wrote: “Didn’t think I’ll start the year saying this … Rest in peace Dad. So much left unsaid but I’ll keep making you proud.”
Timini Egbuson, a Nigerian actor from Bayelsa State, is known for his roles in film and television productions including Shuga, Tinsel, Elevator Baby, Fifty, Skinny Girl in Transit and Manhunting with Mum.
He has been active in the entertainment industry for over a decade and has received the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Actor in a Drama.
Dakore Egbuson is a respected actress and media personality with a long-standing career in Nollywood. Both siblings have often spoken publicly about the strong influence of their parents on their personal lives and professional journeys.
