Lionel Messi Reflects on 2022 World Cup Triumph, Calls It ‘Most Beautiful’ Memory of His Career

Argentina captain Lionel Messi has spoken candidly about a personal trait he is not fond of, shedding light on an emotional challenge he sometimes faces.

In a recent interview with Luzu TV, the Inter Miami forward disclosed that he tends to withdraw and isolate himself when he falls into a certain mindset, a situation he finds difficult to overcome on his own. Messi, however, revealed that his son, Mateo, often plays a key role in helping him snap out of that state.

“The thing I like least about myself is that when I get into a certain state, I shut myself off, and it is hard for me to get out of it,” Messi said.

“Any triviality, sometimes even something simple, changes my mood, so I go into a state of withdrawal, and it’s hard for me to get out of it.

“The person who gets me out of that state quickly is my son Mateo; he is the one who can do that.”

Despite the personal challenges he described, Messi remains focused on his football career and is expected to be named in Argentina’s squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup tournament.
